And now his branded and exclusive smartphone called srt.phone has been launched by Smartron on Wednesday at an event in New Delhi. The event was about to begin at 11:30am where srt.phone would be unveiled by none other than Sachin himself. As per Gadgets 360, srt.phone will be available only at Flipkart at launch. The smartphone will be the first ever product to be launched among the ones which are centered on Sachin. Smartron India promoted the event on Twitter and wrote, “Ready for a surprise? We’re excited & can’t wait to share it with you all. #srtphone is on its way on 3rd May’17, are you ready?”

Smartron India, founded by Mahesh Lingareddy, owns merely two products so far, Smartron t.book laptop-tablet hybrid and Smartron t.phone; both the products were launched last year in March and May at a price of Rs. 39,999 and Rs. 22,999 respectively. The Sachin brand phone is the second smartphone that the company has introduced.

Amit Boni, ex-executive of Motorola India, joined the firm as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. It will be his responsibility to build the brand as well as keep a tab on sales and marketing operations of the startup.

Last year, the company alleged that Sachin Tendulkar gave funds to the firm; however, it didn’t reveal the amount, adding that he would be Smartron India’s brand ambassador. In March only, Sanjay Jha, the former Chairman and CEO of Motorola Mobility, joined Smartron as an independent director and not to forget, he is also an investor in the firm.
