The Women in Blue were favourites for winning the T20 World Cup trophy as they were unbeaten throughout the tournament but things turned out completely different. The Indian team had defeated the Australians in the league stage but in the finals, the latter outclassed the former in every sector, whether it is batting, bowling or fielding.

There is no denying the fact that after playing so well and coming so close to the title, losing it must have hurt the Indian women cricketers pretty badly and their heartbreak was quite visible on their faces as they were crying profusely after the match.

The match was played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and the hosts of the tournament scored 184 batting first but the Indian team was able to score only 99 runs in the 20 overs and was defeated by 85 runs. While the social media platforms were full of messages showering love on the Indian team, the legendary former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar also took to Twitter and posted a message for both the Australian and Indian teams.

While the Little Master congratulated the Australian team on their win, he asked team India not to lose hope and just keep on working hard. He said that the Indian team has inspired many all around the globe and this young team will soon transform into a solid unit. The most important thing he said is that they will definitely win the World Cup one day.

Sachin Tendulkar’s tweet read, “Congratulations to Australia for winning the @T20WorldCup. It was a tough day for #TeamIndia. Our team is young and will grow into a solid unit. You have inspired many across the globe. We are proud of you. Keep working hard and never lose hope. It will happen one day.#INDvsAUS”

Sachin Tendulkar played 5 World Cup tournaments before he got the chance to take the World Cup trophy in his hands in the sixth World Cup tournament that he played.

We will always be proud of our Indian women cricket team and hopefully next time they will emerge to be the winner!
