Sachin Tendulkar Heaps Massive Praises For Virat Kohli After His 76th International Century

The Indian cricketer Virat Kohli moved a step closer to break Sachin Tendulkar’s record of the highest number of international centuries after he scored his 76th international century against West Indies in the second test match which is being played at the Queen’s Park Oval, Post of Spain. India scored 438 runs in their first innings and Virat Kohli was the highest scorer of the team with 121 runs for which he played 206 balls.

This is the 29th test century of Virat Kohli and currently he is on the second spot in the list of the players who have the highest number of international centuries, the first being Sachin Tendulkar (100 centuries) whom Kohli considers his idol. After Virat scored a century, Little Maestro took to the social media platform and showered praises on the former RCB skipper.

Sachin Tendulkar posted a story on his Instagram in which he posted a photo of Virat Kohli with the caption, “Another day, another century by @virat.kohli. Well played.”

Earlier the toss was by the hosts and they decided to bowl first, India got off to a good start as the openers Rohit Sharma (80 runs) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (57 runs) produced a partnership of 137 runs. Though India lost quick wickets in the form of Shubman Gill and Ajinkya Rahane yet Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja (61 runs) put up a good show and failed attempts of the West Indian bowlers of dismissing India at a small total. Later on, Ishan Kishan (25 runs) and Ravichandran Ashwin (56 runs) also made useful contributions and put India in a strong position.

West Indies also had a good start as skipper Kraigg Brathwaite (37 runs not out) and Tagenarine Chanderpaul (33) put up a partnership of 71 for the first wicket and by the end of day 2, the hosts were 86/1. West Indies is trailing by 352 runs and the Indian team will certainly like to repeat their performance of the first test match and whitewash the series.
