Sachin, Yuvraj & Other Legendary Cricketers May Be Back On The Field If BCCI Takes This Step

There is no denying the fact that the IPL is the biggest T20 cricket leagues of the world and the success that it has achieved over the years is phenomenal. The Women Premier League started by the BCCI has also managed to garner a huge fan base in a pretty short duration and now the board is thinking of entering a new segment.

As per the reports, the BCCI is thinking of the possibility of starting the Legends Premier League in which only retired players from India and other countries will be taking part. The BCCI began thinking about it after few retired Indian players gave this idea to the board members.

Though the Indian board won’t be venturing into this segment any sooner, there are chances that it will come up with a concept next year. If the BCCI decided to start the Legends Premier League, it will have the first mover advantage because till now, no cricket board is involved in organizing Legends league, all such contests are organized by private companies.

Indian fans may love it because they will get a chance to see their favourite players such as Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, etc. once again on the field playing cricket and they will be accompanied by some of the great players of other countries (Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, etc.) as well.

Few former Indian cricketers have taken part in Legends league; under Sachin Tendulkar’s captaincy, team India won the Road Safety World Series in the first two editions and recently India won the World Championship of Legends Trophy under the captaincy of Yuvraj Singh.

It is being believed that if the BCCI starts a Legends league, it will be on the same format as the IPL, teams will be named after cities and auction will take place for the players. However, some big names such as Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh may be designated as marquee players but the players will need to retire from all the formats if they want to play in the legends league.

Till when the BCCI will start the Legends Premier League according to you?
