With the enormous success of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, a sequel of the film makes the perfect sense. And what’s better than Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif coming together in an action movie. Ek Tha Tiger broke many old records and set many new ones, it was a blockbuster. The fans and critics both praised the performances of the lead actors, called it extremely entertaining.
Now we are informed that a sequel titled ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ is official. Yes! Yash Raj teams Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif again in ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’. This sequel is in the making and will be directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Salman will resume his role of the courageous RAW agent ‘Tiger’, while Katrina will be playing the character of ISI agent ‘Zoya’.
Sources report that the film will follow a different story and will feature some major changes. Some reports say that Salman will be playing an entirely different and challenging role this time. Salman will be playing a 70-year old man. A source revealed to Bollywood Life –
“Ali Abbas has always given Salman something hatke to play. In ‘Sultan’, he played a down-and-out wrestler who struggles to get into shape and win. And now, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ will have Salman in a never-seen-before avatar as well. YRF and Ali Abbas don’t want the plot to be revealed yet and are keeping it tightly under wraps, so that the film doesn’t lose its USP. The sequel takes forward the story of Tiger/Manish Chandra/ Avinash Singh Rathore (Salman Khan), who is India’s top spy and an officer of the Research & Analysis Wing (RAW). The film will start from Tiger’s present and then, take his journey forward. TZH will highlight many emotional highs and lows of Tiger’s life and will have equal doses of emotion and action. It will release on Eid in 2018”
There were rumors earlier that this sequel will be inspired from a Korean spy drama film, but YRF source denied all those rumors. The source said,
“It is not true. The script is still being worked on.”
Salman Khan played a very different role in ‘Sultaan’, so we can expect to see him trying something different this time. His character ‘Tiger’ will undergo drastic changes in the sequel. “Tiger Zinda Hai’ will start from Tiger’s present and then, take his journey forward. It will be a mix-up of emotions and action, showing the many ups-downs in the career of a RAW agent. The film will be released on Christmas in 2017.
