Currently, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is busy with the shoot of Padmavati in Jaipur’s Jaigarh fort, but today’s day proved to be very unfortunate for him.
Yes, the sets of the film were vandalized and he was physically assaulted by Rajput activists of Karni Sena. Some pulled his hair and made his condition worst; want to know the reason? Well, the protestors said that Padmavati shows the Rajput queen in a very poor light.
The activists of Karni Sena stormed the sets and also vandalized equipment. Basically, Padmavati is a historical drama and the story revolves around Queen Padmini, who decided not to give in to emperor Alauddin Khilji when he had arrived at the Chittorgarh. Not only this, the Queen killed herself along with several other women, before he could take over. According to claims made by the protesters, there are love scenes between Alauddin Khilji and Queen Padmini i.e. Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.
Now, the activists of Rajput Karni Sena have demanded immediate deletion of scenes if any. Narayan Singh, the leader of the group stated that “We had warned the filmmaker against presenting wrong facts. When we came to know about the shooting, we gathered there and protested.”
Officials from Jaipur Police have said that Sanjay Leela Bhansali will stop filming in the area. Moreover, even the filmmakers have given assurance that the shoot would stop and would pack up.

This is really bad; things could have been sorted out smoothly and there was no need of resorting to such violence, isn’t it? Rajputs are very traditional and they have a deep attachment with their culture, history and traditions. They just couldn’t let Bollywood take this liberty and show wrong facts. SLB’s Bajirao Mastani also faced lot of troubles by the descendants of Mastani and Bajirao; it seems Padmavati too is on the same track.
