India and Pakistan are 2 politically hostile countries. However, when we talk about breaking those barriers, Bollywood helps. Too many Pakistani actors are entering Indian films, thus bridging the gap. However, there is 1 issue always. Several Indian movies are banned in Pakistan and vice versa.
Will Sarbjit be banned in Pakistan?
The main question is would Sarbjit fall prey to these political hostile situations between these 2 countries. The movie mainly revolves around Sarabjit Singh, an Indian farmer, who was sentenced to lifetime imprisonment and his sister Dalbir Kaur’s relentless fight to give him justice. The role of Dalbir is played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan whereas the role of Sarabjit is played by Randeep Hooda. Last week, its trailer was unveiled and it was quite intense, gritty and intriguing. There are few scenes that are going to go well with Pakistan censors. Talking about the history of bans, there is no doubt that Pakistan’s Censor Board would scan the film very carefully before it allows the release. Earlier, some films were banned by them which attacked their national integrity.
This might ban the movie!
Aishwarya has a dialogue in the movie stating ‘Aap logo ka bas peeth par war karna aata hai par hum Hindustanio ne kabhi peeth dikhana sikha hi nahi hai’. However, if the Pakistan Censor Board feels it is against their integrity, they are going to ban it. The director Omung Kumar states that he doesn’t have any fear since the movie isn’t anti-Pakistan, but then movies like Neerja and Phantom were banned too.
