However, the selectors didn’t choose him for the BGT 2023 for which they got trolled as well but the snub from the selectors hasn’t deterred the young cricketer and he is determined to perform well whenever he gets the chance. Sarfaraz Khan currently plays for Delhi Capitals in the IPL but before that, he was an important part of Royal Challengers Bangalore and in 2018, the franchise preferred to retain him over some big names of the cricket world.

Recently, the 25 years old player had an interaction with former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra in which he talked about the times when he shared the RCB dressing room with Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, etc. and he also narrated an interesting incident related to ABD.

Sarfaraz Khan said that he rarely saw AB de Villiers practicing and one day he asked him as to why he doesn’t practice. In reply, ABD said that he used to practice a lot when he was of his (Sarfaraz’s) age but he was not as talented as the Indian youngster is and he advised Sarfaraz Khan to keep playing.

Sarfaraz Khan also said that he always wanted to prove those wrong who used to say that he is a white ball player. He stated that there were many who used to say that he is just a white ball player who is capable of playing only last four overs with white ball. As per Sarfaraz, he always wanted to play red-ball format, he worked very hard for it and when he got the chance to make a comeback in the Mumbai team, his first century got converted into triple century and it was then he realized that things are not as tough as people say. He added that since childhood, he dreamed of raising the bat with helmet and having Mumbai logo on his chest.

Well, the selectors may not have chosen Sarfaraz Khan for the first two test matches but who knows he may get a chance to play in the remaining two test matches. What do you think?
