Prashant Singh – Touching your heart one song at a time
Prashant Singh is the new kid on the Bhojpuri block, a singer who is taking the entire Josh community and many others by storm with his melodious voice and enchanting beats.
Born in Patna into a highly musical family, Prashant took to music like fish to water. His father was a renowned singer while his uncle was a famous Tabla player for “Akashvani” on All India Radio – the perfect setting for a budding singer to grow, realise his desire to make music and unleash his true potential.
After moving to Surat, Gujarat, Prashant, with one true goal of making music, gave his all and worked in enhancing his artform under the guidance of eminent Guru UstadGulamFarid Vohra. With his Guru’s constant mentoring and blessings, coupled with his own inner fire towards music, it was only a matter of time before Prashant went on to win The Voice of Surat in 2008. He didn’t just stop at this, he later won The Voice of Gujarat in 2010 and further went on to become one of the finalists in the Radio City Super Singer contest!
Though based in Surat, Gujarat, Prashant did not forget his deep-rooted love for music, especially Bhojpuri music. Inspired by “Chaita”, a form of folk music from Bihar, Prashant chose to independently write and produce music in Bhojpuri during the lockdown when he could not find a composer for his song. As he released his first song, Prashant received an overwhelming response from a thirsty audience, and this paved the way for his new calling in writing Bhojpuri songs. With this experience, Prashant says, “My songs are driven by my observation of the society. They are mostly inspired from my discussion with my friends and family members. My wife is my muse, her love inspires and helps me pen down romantic songs.”
Prashant’s wife saw his true potential and pushed him to promote his music on short-video platforms and this is how his journey started on Josh, India’s leading short-video platform. He is currently shooting for some of their big projects that include web series and short films, with more projects in the pipeline.

It is heartening to see that despite his rise, he humbly says, “I would like to thank my parents and my guru ji for constantly supporting me in each and every step that I have taken in this journey till now.”
