Secret Revealed! Here’s Why Narendra Singh Dhoni Was Missing From M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story

M.S. Dhoni – The untold story is topping the charts with its amazing numbers at the box-office. Not just that, here has been a lot of buzz about the outstanding performances in the biopic. However, we have also read about the errors in the untold story of Mahi’s life. One of these errors was the elimination of Narendra Singh Dhoni’s character from the film.

As we all know Mahi has two siblings, his sister Jayanti Gupta and Narendra Singh Dhoni. But the biopic showed only the character of his sister Jayanti that was played by Bhumika Chawla.

Why is it so? When Telegraph asked the same question to Narendra, he simply replied saying,

“It must have been the filmmaker’s choice. What can I say?”

Surely, it was an intentional decision but what was the reason behind it?

You’ll be surprised to know what Narendra revealed further, Narendra said,

“I may be non-existent in the movie because I don’t have much contribution in Mahi’s life – be it during his childhood, his struggle as a young man or after he became MSD for the world. The film is about Mahi, not his family.”

True that! The biopic was about Dhoni and his struggle alone!

However, on asking why he does not play an important role in Dhoni’s life? He said,

“I am 10 years older to him. By the time, he picked up the bat for the first time, I was out of JVM-Shyamali and had also been away from home since 1991. I was in Almora at Kumon (University) where I completed my higher studies before returning to Ranchi. Although I may have moral contributions in Mahi’s life, showcasing it would have been very difficult in the film”

When NSD was asked if he had ever watched Dhoni playing cricket in his early days? He mentioned,

“I did when I used to be home during vacation. I remember I was present when he debuted in Ranchi district senior tournament where he hit five fours in one over. He played beautifully than at Mecon grounds. Even after that, I saw him play on a few occasions at local meets whenever I came home”

Interestingly, Narendra has been a sportsman himself. Lastly, when Telegraph asked him whether he was ever into sports? He stunned us with this answer, “Oh yes! I used to play football for JVM-Shyamali (DAV then). I represented DAV in many national school meets as well”

That was unexpected but, amazing!

So this is why probably NSD was missing from the biopic. Well, we don’t have any complaints after listening to the man himself. What do you say? Share your views in the comments section below.
