Sehwag & Ashwin Lash Out At Eoin Morgan In A Series Of Tweets Post Scuffle During DCvsKKR

Delhi Capitals has been performing great in the IPL 2021 under the captaincy of Rishabh Pant but in its last match which was against Kolkata Knight Riders, its performance was not as per the expectations and KKR won the match by 3 wickets with 10 balls remaining in its innings.

However, the match also gained attention because of the verbal spat which took place between DC spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and KKR skipper Eoin Morgan. The incident was all about Ashwin calling Rishabh Pant for an extra run after the ball ricocheted (rebounded) off the DC skipper and it happened on the last delivery of the 19th over.

When Tim Southee took the wicket of Ashwin, the former said something to the Indian spinner who made no delay in giving him back but things turned uglier when the KKR skipper also started arguing with Ashwin. Later on, KKR player Dinesh Karthik talked about the incident in detail and revealed why Eoin Morgan was not happy with Ashwin. DK stated that Rahul Tripathi threw the ball and it got ricocheted after hitting Pant and what Morgan didn’t like was that Ashwin called Pant for an extra run as Morgan feels that it is against the spirit of the game.

However, this didn’t go well with the former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag who reminded Morgan that something similar happened in the finals of the WC2019 as ball got ricocheted after hitting Ben Stokes’ bat and went for four. These four runs were of great importance as they helped England in tying the match against New Zealand and then England won the match in the super over.

Eoin Morgan leads the England cricket team in the short formats and Viru paaji took a dig at him by tweeting, “On July 14th , 2019 when it ricocheted of Ben Stokes bat in the final over, Mr Morgan sat on a Dharna outside Lord’s and refused to hold the World cup trophy and New Zealand won. Haina? Bade aaye, ‘doesn’t appreciate’ waale”.

R Ashwin also responded with a six-tweet thread in which he made it clear that he was not aware that the ball had hit Rishabh Pant but he also stated that he would still have taken a run if he had seen it because he is allowed to do this.

Ashwin also said that he is not a disgrace as Morgan said and he didn’t fight, he just stood up for himself as he is taught by his teachers and parents and he also asked the online users to make their kids learn to stand for themselves.

Here are six tweets in which Ashwin slammed the KKR skipper:
