Sehwag, Irfan & Yusuf Pathan Support Shami, Slam Haters Who Abused Him Over Failure In INDvsPAK

The Indian cricketers got massively slammed online after they lost to Pakistan in their first match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 which was played yesterday at Dubai International Stadium. The Pakistani cricket team certainly scripted history in this game as it was the first time that it was able to defeat the Indian squad in the World Cup.

India batted first and managed to put a decent total of 151/7 in its 20 overs but Pakistani batters chased the target without losing a wicket and with 13 balls remaining in their innings. This was the sixth encounter of India and Pakistan in the T20 World Cup in which the latter registered a thumping victory.

While the Pakistanis celebrated the special win in a huge manner, the Indian cricket lovers were left annoyed and upset but there were some toxic online users who started abusing the Indian side after the defeat. The former Indian cricketer Yusuf Pathan who was a part of the 2007 T20 World Cup winning Indian team supported the cricketers and slammed those who were abusing them.

Yusuf Pathan tweeted, “Criticising is fine but khiladiyon ko abuse nahi karna chahiye. Ye game hai, better team on that day won. Inhi cricketers ne India ko bohot matches jitaye hain pichle kuch saalon mein. Aur haar kar jeetne wale ko hi baazigar kehte hain na! #indiaVsPakistan #INDvPAK #T20WorldCup21”

Some haters targeted Mohammad Shami specifically as the pacer gave away 43 runs in his 3.5 overs and went wicketless. While some lashed out at him for his poor performance in bowling, few others were really mad at him as they trolled him over his religion and asked him to go to Pakistan. Soon few former Indian cricketers including Irfan Pathan and Virender Sehwag showed their solidarity with Mohammad Shami and stated that such things should not happen.

Irfan Pathan tweeted, “Even I was part of #IndvsPak battles on the field where we have lost but never been told to go to Pakistan! I’m talking about 🇮🇳 of few years back. THIS CRAP NEEDS TO STOP. #Shami”

Virender Sehwag’s tweet read, “The online attack on Mohammad Shami is shocking and we stand by him. He is a champion and anyone who wears the India cap has India in their hearts far more than any online mob. With you Shami. Agle match mein dikha do jalwa.”

Targeting cricketers just because they lost a match is seriously not acceptable and people should understand that in a game, one side will lose and the other will win. Mohammad Shami has given many match-winning performances and if people are trolling him for one poor performance, it is pathetic, appalling and shameful.
