Sehwag Has A Wonderful Message For Diwali! It Has Indeed Brought Tears To Our Eyes!

Diwali is round the corner and I am sure everyone of you is just looking out for a chance to shop, shop and shop! Yes, this is one festival, which is celebrated with great pomp in India. People leave no stones unturned to get the best; be it lanterns, crackers, décor items or diyas.

However, with the emergence of online stores, shopping trends have changed a lot and seeing the current scenario, we can say that the craze of going to those crowded local markets to get things and then return home with loaded bags, has died. Rather than going there and wasting time, people prefer to order online, as it is just a matter of few clicks.

But behind all this, do you realize a bitter truth? Have you forgotten those poor ladies and children who sit on streets right from morning till night to offer you those carefully crafted mud diyas?

In fact, when online shops weren’t there, or when there were no floating diyas or scented candles, these mud diyas solved the purpose and added elegance and charm to your place. Gone are those times, when we used to get some typical brown diyas and sit for hours painting and decorating them. Although you will get loads of attractive ones online (That China maal), we bet you won’t get the feel of desi diyas, don’t you agree?

Even if you have forgotten this fact, Sehwag hasn’t! Yes, he posted a wonderful message on his Twitter handle and made us realize that there are people, who get to celebrate Diwali, only if they earn a few bucks from us. Not everyone is fortunate!

Here’s his tweet…

It is time to boycott imported ones and support our poor Indian sellers, who are dependent on your money for their celebrations! By supporting imported products, we are snatching away their right to celebrate! Think Think!

Sehwag’s message has touched us and indeed it made us realize many things. Even Twitterati agreed to the cricketer; have a look at the tweets…

Well conveyed!

We hope that by now, you have changed your mind and decided to go to your local market! Yes, it is our duty to spread smiles among people who can’t even afford the smallest of things. So guys, do share your views in our comments section below.
