While hosting the 17th IIFA awards, Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Aktar, who had donned the Raju and Pappu avatars lightened the atmosphere with their awesome skills at the same time took a dig at the controversies that happened last year. Remember, Pahalaj Nihalani had blasted on award-returning filmmakers?
Yes, Shahid said
“There were many controversies last year. The returning of award was one of them. So, this time we have decided that at IIFA we will have awards for returning of awards. The nominations are Farhan for ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, Riteish Deshmukh for ‘Bangistan’, Boman Irani for ‘3 Idiots’,”
On this, Farhan instantly took Shahid Kapoor’s name for ‘Haider’. Did you realize that none of them had got any awards for these movies?
Moreover, Shahid just couldn’t stop taking a dig at the Censor Board, which had way too many issues with ‘Udta Punjab’.
When Farhan asked about Censor Board, Shahid immediately said that it is not Censor Board but Certification Board. He added that the work of Censor board is ‘Chhatna’ and not ‘Katna’.
Further taking a dig at the Chief of the Censor Board, Pahlaj Nihalani, Shahid said “And according to them (censor board), we from the film industry have no ‘Pahlaj and sharam’.”
Shahid further says that often the CBFC sticks to ‘Beepomania’ that is heavy cut down on expletives that are used. He adds that “This is beepomania and if things continue like this very soon we will only have beeps in the films.”
These controversies definitely made everyone have a hearty laugh. Talking about his own wedding, Shahid said “The biggest controversy last year was that I got married!”. He also adds “Biggest tehelka is that main baap banne wala hoon.”
