The Indian cricket team will be playing its fourth match of the ICC T20 World Cup tomorrow against Bangladesh at Adelaide Oval and as it has already lost its last match which was against South Africa, there is no doubt that India will be ruthless in its approach against the Asian neighbours.
The Indian squad has played 3 matches till now out of which it has won 2 and lost 1; at present, it is at the second spot in the points table of its group with 4 points. The situation of Bangladesh is also the same as it has also lost the match against South Africa and won two matches against Netherlands and Zimbabwe but it is at the third spot because of its lower run-rate.
India will certainly like to win its next two matches in order to ensure that it reaches the semi-finals smoothly. It won’t be wrong to say that everyone expects India to win its next two matches against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe because it is one of the favourites to win the World Cup but nobody expects the skipper of a national team to say that he and his team are not in the tournament to win the trophy.
During a pre-match press conference, the Bangladeshi cricket team skipper Shakib Al Hasan states that the Indian team is the favourites and it has come here to win the cup. He further says that his team hasn’t came here to win the World Cup so if they manage to defeat India, it would be an upset and they will certainly like to create an upset.
Many cricket fans did not like what Shakib said because it showed lack of confidence but there were few who felt that the Bangladeshi skipper was playing mind games before the match and it might be an attempt to make the Indian team a little complacent.

Come on Shakib! U are captaining a team which came into super 12. At least act a bit competitive, don’t voice your terriblly defeatist mindset.

such a poor statement from a senior player. How will you inspire your younger generation when you say you aren't there to compete.

Shakib Al Hasan also praises the Indian team, though he says that all the 11 players of the Indian team are good cricketers and this is why they are in the team but he is more impressed with Suryakumar Yadav and Arshdeep Singh.
Shakib adds that SKY is performing really well and he is one of the best batters of the present times. Talking about Arshdeep Singh, Shakib says that he saw him bowling for the first time in the IPL and he is really bowling well in the tournament. The Bangladeshi skipper goes on to say that they haven’t conducted a team meeting but they will do that soon and make several plans, while some will work, few won’t and this is how the game is.
Is Shakib Al Hasan low in confidence or is he playing mind-games? What do you think? Let us know your views in this regard.
