Recently, Shikhar Dhawan opened up on the captaincy styles of MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as he has played under the captaincy of all these three players. Dhawan made his international debut in 2010 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni and while speaking on the captaincy style of these three, he says that they are different characters.

He stated that while MSD was cool, calm and composed, Virat was aggressive and Rohit Sharma is also a cool and calm skipper. As per Gabbar, Virat’s attitude was clearly visible in his batting style and MS Dhoni was pretty cool in critical situations. He goes on to say that the personality of a person comes out in tough situations.

Talking about his ouster from the team despite the fact that he has led the ODI team for quite some time, he says that with time and experience, a person learns how to deal with the lows and highs of life in a comfortable manner and he gets a lot of strength from them. He adds that he has always given his best but if there is someone who is doing better than his best, then he is fine with it. Shikhar Dhawan further says that this is the reason behind that person being in the team and for him not being there. He goes on to say that he is happy with where he is and there is always a probability of him making a comeback in the team.

Shikhar Dhawan has played 34 test matches, 167 ODIs and 68 T20Is in which he has scored 2315 runs, 6793 runs and 1759 runs, respectively. He will be leading the IPL team Punjab Kings in the IPL 2023 after the franchise chose to release its former skipper Mayank Agarwal.

We must say that it was certainly a very honest response from Shikhar Dhawan and a person needs courage to speak so clearly. Agree?
