“Shoaib Akhtar, Umran Malik Who?,” Bhuvneshwar’s Fastest Delivery Of 208Kmph Sets Twitter On Fire

The relatively less experienced Indian cricket team headed by Hardik Pandya is on the tour to Ireland where it is scheduled to play 2-match T20I series. The senior Indian cricketers such as Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, etc. are in England as of now as they will be playing the fifth rescheduled test match.

Though the Indian team playing in Ireland is younger and less experienced yet it has experienced players like Bhuvneshwar Kumar who is also the vice-captain of the team along with wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik who made a comeback in the Indian team after 3 years.

The first T20I which was played at The Village was rain affected and the 20-20 overs match was reduced to 12-12 overs match in which the visitors won the toss and decided to bowl first. Ireland put up a score of 108/4 runs on the board with the help of Harry Tector’s brilliant knock of 64 runs not out (33 balls, 6 fours & 3 sixes). The Indian bowling was much disciplined and the Indian bowlers didn’t give enough chance to the Ireland batters to open up and score freely. While the sensational pacer Umran Malik made his debut in this match, the whole attention was shifted to Bhuvneshwar Kumar not because he bowled well but because he bowled the fastest deliveries in the history of cricket and that too two times.

Well, there was nothing serious as whatever happened was the error of speed gun which showed that Bhuvneshwar Kumar breached the 200 km/h mark two times. As it was noted by some cricket fans, soon the micro-blogging site Twitter was flooded with reactions.

Here are some of the selected ones:

The Indian team achieved the target with 7 wickets in hands and with 16 balls remaining in its innings. The openers Deepak Hooda scored 47 runs not out (29 balls, 6 fours & 2 sixes) while Ishan Kishan made 26 runs (11 balls, 3 fours & 2 sixes). The skipper Hardik Pandya also played a quick knock of 24 runs for which he played 12 deliveries and his innings included 1 four and 3 sixes. Yuzvendra Chahal, the Indian spinner, was adjudged as the Player of the Match for his superb bowling 1/11 in 3 overs.

The second T20I will be played today at the same venue and we really hope that it doesn’t get affected because of rain.
