The murder of an Infosys techie, Swathi had shaken everyone! She was waiting at the railway station for boarding a train to work, after which P Ramkumar (22) a software engineer hacked Swathi to death from behind.
Now the accused who was admitted to Tirunelveli Medical college hospital has made a confession to the police. Ramkumar states that the victim had made a remark on his physical appearance, which he felt quite abusing. He states that the comment enraged him a lot, owing to which he murdered Swathi.
Police picked Ramkumar from his house in Sengottai’s Meenakshipuram village, after he tried ending his life. Then, he was admitted to the hospital and was given first-aid. Then, Ramkumar underwent a surgery and after he was declared completely out of danger, the Chennai police brought him in front of magistrate Ramadass and got transit warrant. Then, Ramkumar was boarded in the ambulance and was brought via the road.
Reports state that he would be reaching Chennai on Monday morning and would be brought before Egmore’s 14th metropolitan magistrate court then. First Ramkumar would be admitted to Royapettah hospital after which they will shift him to the Central Puzhal prison. Later, Police would record a detailed confessional statement.
After preliminary inquiries, a senior police official stated that
“His condition is normal and he is conversing well. The accused is not a complete stranger to the victim. The two had exchanged chats on social networking sites and were in possession of each other’s phone numbers. Though she was a friend on the social networking site, she did not encourage him and did not respond to his comments. Ramkumar tracked her activities and kept stalking her on Facebook and later came to Choolaimedu,”
The police further added that “Since there was several friends on Facebook, she ignored his comments. But Ramkumar stayed in the mansion in Choolaimedu just to keep track of her,”
Moreover, Ramkumar had proposed Swathi in public many times. However, Swathi verbally abused him and made a remark on his looks, which further enraged him. Ramkumar had told the police that he shifted to Chennai as he wanted to try his luck in Kollywood. So guys, what do you think about this confession?
