Trouble for Shah Rukh Khan doesn’t seem to have an end to it. After a not so convincing performance from his much awaited movie Raees, Shah Rukh has landed himself in a legal trouble. On the basis of a complaint lodged by Vikram Singh, a vendor at Kota railway station, a GRP (Government Railway Police) officer stated that a case for rioting and damaging railway property has been registered against Shah Rukh Khan.
Shah Rukh Khan was travelling on the August Kranti Express train from Mumbai to Delhi to promote his film Raees last month. He was also accompanied by the film director Rahul Dholakia and Ritesh Sidhwani.
The complainant stated that Shah Rukh threw something while waving to his fans from the gate of the train. In a bid to get hold of the thrown object, his fans created a ruckus and overturned the Complainant’s trolley. He also stated that the mob also caused him injuries and destroyed the items of his trolley.
A railway court in Kota heard the plea of vendor Vikram Singh and directed the GRP to register a case against Shah Rukh Khan. Shah Rukh Khan has been charged under a number of sections including sections 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of Rs 50), 120(b) (criminal conspiracy), 147 (rioting), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed) and 160 (committing affray) of the IPC.
During the same train journey, a fan of Shah Rukh Khan had died at the Vadodara railway station to get a glimpse of their favourite superstar. A couple of constables and a huge number of other fans too got injured during Shah Rukh’s promotional train journey for Raees. Police had even resorted to Lathicharge to get the mad mob under control.
The promotional event might have managed to pull audiences to the movie theatres but has costed Shah Rukh Khan quite a lot. Surely Shah Rukh Khan would have never wanted to create any such trouble for his fans.
