No doubt, social media is a great place to keep in touch with friends and share updates with everyone, but at times, it can prove to be “DANGEROUS”. Yes, nowadays, there are many incidents which prove that social media has become a death valley. Fake friend requests, abuses, threats etc. have become very common on these platforms; however, the incident we are going to narrate to you today will leave you shocked.
We are talking about a Pune based techie Rakesh Gangurde (34), who killed his wife due her “Openness on social media”. This was not it; after killing his wife Sonali, Rakesh committed suicide by hanging himself. The reason was very petty!
What happened was that Sonali discussed her infertility issue with relatives and friends on various social media platforms and when Rakesh came to know about this, he was very infuriated. His anger reached such a level that he literally killed her. Rakesh choked her with a pillow and owing to suffocation, Sonali died on the spot. The couple was married since 4 years but didn’t have children, which is why they were undergoing infertility treatment. Sources say that the couple frequently fought over this, but never thought that such a drastic step would be taken.
Rakesh left a suicide note in which he had stated that he was extremely disappointed with his wife because she used to share her medical history and treatments with relatives and friends.
Sonali’s brothers Harshal and Kunal Powar, came all the way from Nashik and were shocked to see their bodies. Well, Sonali’s mom had been calling her constantly but there was no response from her. This made her mother worried and hence, she sent her sons to check what’s wrong.
Sonali’s brothers rang the door bell but didn’t get any response. They realized that something is fishy and immediately informed the police. Officials arrived in no time and broke the door, only to find dead bodies of Rakesh and Sonali.
We really wonder as to what made Rakesh do this. He was an MBA and Sonali was a Computer engineer; things could have been sorted out with mutual discussions, don’t you think so? Share your views about this in our comments section below.
