In India, there is no limit or height of crazy fans who go beyond just everything to make team India win the match. However, this is unclear so far whether Sudhakar really sacrificed his tongue for the victory of India and offered it in a temple or it got cut off by accident.
His family alleged for Sudhakar’s sacrificing the tongue as an offering in a Ponneri, Tamil Nadu temple so that India defeats Australia and makes its place in finals.
Nevertheless, doctors of GVMCH (Government Vellore Medical College Hospital) are of an entirely different opinion. According to them, the so-called fan expressed by means of gestures that the tongue got detached accidentally when he was climbing papaya tree and had in his mouth a sickle. Meanwhile, he lost balance, fell and the tongue chopped with the sickle. Not only doctors but also the cop maintains that Sudhakar’s tongue got separated by chance.
It has been reported that on Thursday, Sudhakar visited Vediyappan Temple at about 8.30 am. There a lady glanced at this copiously bleeding mason and called Raju, his brother for informing what happened. He got admitted in a govt. hospital and later in GVMCH. Boopalan, a kinsman of Sudhakar, made his way to the temple to seek the detached tongue for getting it stitched again.
As stated by Boopalan, “We asked one of our relatives to go to the temple and look for the severed tongue (in the hope of having it stitched back). The relative called back at about 12 noon and said that the tongue was found in the temple. When we asked the doctors later they said that the tongue cannot be stitched back.”
But Raju confirmed his being a die-hard cricket fan and in his words, he “…never misses a game played by the Indian cricket team.”
