This is the 12th time that 200 plus scores have been scored in a match and Shubman Gill, the skipper of GT feels that the impact player rule has played an important role in making the IPL matches high scoring. After his team lost the match, while speaking to mediapersons, Gill said that he feels that the impact player rule is playing a big role as it gives an extra cushion to the batters to keep going hard on the bowlers till the end.

Talking about the match, Shubman Gill said that at one stage, they were of the opinion that they would stop DC between 200 and 210 but they ended up giving some extra runs in the last couple of overs. He added that the good thing about chasing is that the players know what they are chasing and the target was chaseable as the ground was small. Shubman said that execution of plans is very important for the bowlers in T20s, especially if there is nothing in the wicket for them.

Though Shubman was disappointed with the defeat as it was a close match, he also praised his players for showing the character and giving everything till the end and they never thought that they were down and out of the game at any point of time.

GT has also won 4 matches out of 9 and is sitting at the seventh position due to lower run rate than DC. What do you think, does any of these two teams (DC and GT) have a chance to win the IPL 2024?
