Shubman Gill once again showed that he loves adding a little drama after victories. The Gujarat Titans captain took a playful dig at Chennai Super Kings and their supporters after GT completed a season double over CSK in the IPL 2026.

Following the win on Thursday night, Shubman Gill shared a picture on social media with teammates Mohammed Siraj and Jos Buttler. In the photo, all the three players were posing with fingers placed on their lips, seemingly suggesting that they had silenced the loud CSK crowd.
Shubman Gill captioned the post with a cheeky message that quickly went viral, he wrote, “Nandri 2. Yellow lights, blue ending”.

The GT captain was equally aggressive during the match at the Narendra Modi Stadium. While defending a huge target of 230, Shubman Gill took a brilliant diving catch to dismiss Shivam Dube who was trying to pull off a miracle chase for CSK. After taking the catch, Shubman Gill celebrated passionately and gestured toward the crowd as Shivam Dube walked back to the dugout.
Shivam Dube had almost changed the momentum of the game with a quick 47 runs off just 17 balls, smashing four fours and four sixes. However, his dismissal ended CSK’s hopes of a comeback.

Earlier in the match, Shubman Gill played a captain’s knock with the bat. He scored 64 runs off 37 deliveries, including seven fours and three sixes. He also shared a massive 125-run opening partnership with Sai Sudharsan, who continued his excellent form with 84 runs off 53 balls. It was Sai Sudharsan’s fifth consecutive half-century of the IPL 2026.
Later, Jos Buttler added more damage with an unbeaten 57 off 27 balls, helping Gujarat Titans post a huge total of 229/4 in 20 overs.
In reply, CSK had a terrible start as Siraj dismissed opener Sanju Samson on the very first ball. The batting lineup never recovered and Chennai Super Kings were eventually bowled out for 140 in just 13.4 overs, suffering their eighth defeat of the season.
