The match was played on 15 March 2023 at Gaddafi Stadium and after winning the toss, Multan Sultans decided to bat first but their openers Usman Khan (29 runs, 28 balls, 4 fours) and Mohammad Rizwan (33 runs, 29 balls, 3 fours) batted very slowly and Simon Doull just ripped apart the Pakistani opener during the commentary.

Simon Doull said, “33 off 29 and he’s out in the 14th over, It’s just not acceptable. He didn’t hit a boundary in 10 overs. The third over was his last boundary. You’ve got to take more risks than that.”

Soon the Pakistani cricket fans started reacting on Twitter; here are some selected reactions:

As far as the match is concerned, Multan Sultans managed to score 160 /5 in their stipulated 20 overs with the help of fiery knock of Kieron Pollard (57 runs, 34 balls, 1 fours and 6 sixes).

In response, Lahore Qalandars couldn’t even touch the three digit mark as the whole team got wrapped up at the score of 76 runs. The highest scorer for Lahore Qalandars was Sam Billings who scored 19 runs in 27 balls and today Lahore Qalandars is clashing against Peshawar Zalmi for the berth in finals against Multan Sultans.
