Who doesn’t love smartphones? Obviously, we all do! But do you know which phone was the hottest-selling smartphone last year?
In accordance with IHS Markit, a financial services firm, Apple’s iPhone 6s is on the top position in the best-selling smartphones list of 2016.
The latest statement released on Wednesday on the website of IHS disclosed that it was merely in the fourth quarter that iPhone 7 proved to be the best-selling smartphone, followed by iPhone 7 Plus.
The press release further added,
“Apple again has demonstrated that its new iPhones integrate enough innovations and new features to drive sales and remain successful in the market. The company is also capable of selling older devices for an extended period of time.”
In the year 2016, iPhone 6s as well as 6s Plus had been in the category of the most-shipped models. Talking of Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, it was on the 5th position while S7 made it to the list on number nine.
Samsung got five positions in top 10 most-shipped smartphones of the year with Note 7, S7 & S7 Edge making it to best flagships in the company’s premium line-up.
Oppo, a Chinese manufacturer model, could make it to the top 10 too, registering an immense increase of 109% as far as smartphone shipments is concerned. From the perspective of unit shipment, it emerged as the fourth largest smartphone maker.
It will be interesting to see which smartphone will hit the list on the top spot this year but for that, we will need to wait for a long time!!
