Snapdeal & Flipkart To Check Your Identity Before Delivering Goods - RVCJ Media

According to the latest news, online shopping sites Snapdeal & Flipkart are reported to work with firms which may assist the sites in identifying customers’ details prior to shipping goods.

E-commerce companies took this decision after suffering from a great loss of crores on account of false addresses which resulted in turned away goods.

In the words of Zumigo’s chief executive, Chirag Bakshi, “We identify the name and address through mobile number and credit card information.” Chirag further added, “We are using identity to facilitate fast payment for sale. You can use it to make payment at any browser site.” For validating accounts, it can ask general questions like CVV or pin code. Tie-up with telecom firms would assist in making out whether the customer is at said-location prior to cash on delivery.

Although Zumigo can gather details from telecom firms which will enable it to decrease the cost of delivery, the company can get difficulty to tie up with the country’s credit bureaus. As stated by Experian Credit Information Company of India’s Managing Director, Mohan Jayaraman, “We are regulated under Credit Information Companies Regulation Act (CIRCA), which does not allow us to share information with anybody other than specified user.”
