Kapil Sharma has been going through many troubles these days. Firstly, Sunil Grover quit the show and then, the TRPs of TKSS fell drastically. Things became very messy when even Ali Asgar and Sugandha Mishra called it quits.
Since then, there were many reports about The Kapil Sharma Show going off air. Some said that Sony can’t afford to renew the contract because of TKSS’ super-low TRPs. Some said that Sunil Grover’s show will be replacing that of Kapil. But let us tell you that these were nothing but rumors.
Finally, Sony has issued clarification on this matter and has taken a big decision with regards to Kapil’s show. Well, the show’s contract has been renewed by Sony Channel for 1 more year. Yes, this good news was out yesterday and we can’t be more happy. It’s a sigh of relief for all Kapil’s fans because the show isn’t going off air now; it will go on for another year.
It’s obvious that Kapil is super-happy over this decision; he expressed his joy in a statement which read,
“I am deeply touched with the warmth and love the audience has showered on us over the years. It’s their belief and undying devotion that encourages us to continue to reinvent ourselves and bring smiles to every household week on week.”
The comedian also said,
“I am grateful to Sony Entertainment Channel for believing in me and our show and supporting us in creating and bringing unlimited entertainment to every household every weekend.”
Talking about the extension of contract, Danish Khan, the EVP and Head of Sony TV says,
“The Kapil Sharma Show bring smiles to millions of viewer every weekend nights across the globe. Kapil is an extraordinary talent and we are delighted to have further cemented our relationship with extension of this contract. are confident that the show and its talented cast will continue to enthrall the audiences across the globe.”
We just can’t stop smiling as now we know that Kapil is going to entertain us for 1 more year. It’s his popularity, comic timing and huge fan following that has made this extension possible.
