Recently, Keshav Maharaj gave an interview in which he revealed that it was he who requested that this song should be played on his entry. Talking further, the Durban born cricketer of the Indian origin said that Bhagwan Ram is his biggest strength.

He adds that for him, respecting the religion and culture is an important aspect of life and it feels nice to hear the song, “Ram Siya Ram” getting played in background.

Keshav Maharaj has taken 158 wickets in 50 test matches which makes him the most effective spinner of the Proteas since apartheid. When he was asked whether he feels bad when he is not celebrated enough as the condition of the South African pitches doesn’t suit his bowling style, he said that unfortunately, the pacers are celebrated more in the world we live in and there have been some great bowlers who have played for South Africa but he is there to do his job and it does not make a difference to him whether he is celebrated or not.

Keshav Maharaj concluded by saying that he wants to contribute in a positive manner and if the team has played in the right manner, then he has done his job.
