Filmmaker Karan Johar has become a father of twins with the help of surrogacy and he has named his kids after the name of his parents. Karan’s father was known as Yash Johar and the baby boy has been named Yash while the baby girl has been named Roohi, which is an anagram of Hiroo, Karan’s mother.
We all know that actor Shah Rukh Khan is not only a friend to Karan but like a big brother to him, so everyone wanted to know the reaction of SRK on Karan becoming a daddy. At Mijwan Charity Fashion Show, SRK spoke on the matter and he said this to PTI, “We wish him happiness. It’s still very personal. So, don’t think I am being cagey by not answering about it.”
Shah Rukh also wants that Karan’s privacy should be respected as it is a very personal moment. He further added, “I have had this moment in my life so, I know how personal it is. Let’s respect it and leave it to that. We will have love, celebrations, happiness and health later.”
SRK has worked in all the movies of Karan Johar, except “Student Of The Year” and in the latest release of Karan, “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil”, Shah Rukh did a cameo as well.
As per a report published in Mid-Day, only three celebrity friends of KJo were aware of the birth of twins and they were- Gauri Khan, SRK’s wife and KJo’s one of the best friends, actress Kareena Kapoor and designer Manish Malhotra.
Roohi and Yash were introduced to the world by Karan through social media. He wrote, “I am ecstatic to share with you all the two most wonderful additions to my life, my children and lifelines; Roohi and Yash. I feel enormously blessed to be a parent to these pieces of my heart who were welcomed into this world with the help of the marvels of medical science. This was an emotional yet well thought out decision which I have taken after considering all the responsibilities and duties that come with being a parent.”
Shah Rukh’s youngest son Abram was also born through surrogacy and actor Tusshar Kapoor also became a single father of a boy with the help of surrogacy.
Karan Johar is the head of Dharma Productions and their latest offering will be “Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya” which stars Varun and Alia. In addition, Karan hosts a TV show “Koffee With Karan” and he has also released his autobiography, An Unsuitable Boy, recently.
