They Had Startup Idea But No Funds To Develop Their App! They Did Robbery For Funding!

India is a country where a major part of the population is suffering from unemployment so start-up or self employment is the way to to make the things work.

Though, there are many angel investors and government policies helping out the entrepreneurs in their startup, there is still a large section of youth who is roaming free with dreams of making it big burning in their heart.

Bangalore i.e. known as the silicon valley of India has a huge number of dreamers who are struggling to see their dream startup working and they are in fact facing a lot of wrath and blows of the time for this.

However, there are many who think startup is an easy way to make money and opt for it only to be disappointed later.

Bangalore-based criminals, MN Jabiuddin and G Arun Kumar had an idea of an app that would help the parents list out the schools in the city. However, the issue was the finance as the app developer asked a remuneration of Rs. 2 lakh to build their product.

Jabiuddin and Arun took the way they had learnt since years and tried chain snatching to arrange the required sum.

As per the report in Bangalore Mirror, MN Jabiuddin alias Tabrez (30) from HBR Layout, and G Arun Kumar (36) from Mahalakshmi Layout – two hardened criminals saw a big opportunity in the city’s startup culture. They got the idea of an app that will list out best schools for parents and planned to set up a team of software engineers to develop it.

However, the cost of Rs 2 lakh to get the job done was too big and so they prowled the city streets on a stolen scooter, targeting lone women and speeding away with their gold chains. Until, of course, the law caught up with them. The police recovered 1.2 kg of gold ornaments, worth at least Rs 35 lakh.

According to the police, the startup plan was shelved when the duo realised they could make more money snatching chains.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Sharanappa S Dhage said-

“Jabiuddin is a college dropout while Arun has studied till Class 9,”

The police claimed that Arun was the one who came up with the startup idea and he convinced Jabiuddin to join him. He came out on bail in March and contacted a city-based app developer. To raise money, in a span of four months, they had targeted 29 women.

The officer explained-

“As chain-snatching became lucrative, the focus shifted from app development to crime. The two were caught based on a CCTV footage of a chain-snatching case. As they were habitual offenders, the police found them on the database and eventually arrested the two.”
