The mystery surrounding the death or so-represented suicide of DK Ravi is getting complicated day by day. The IAS office DK Ravi was found hanging death in the bedroom of his South Bangalore Apartment. The police believes it to be a case of suicide but the non-appearance of a suicide note and the barred request of CBI probe by the Karnataka government makes it a doubtful case to be solved.
The family of the deceased officers suspects a foul play behind the rejected request for CBI enquiry. DK Ravi passed out in 2009 and was posted as a joint commissioner in the Commercial Tax Department. The death of the brave officer is suspected to be because of his strong stand against illegal sand mining and land mafia, in the Kolar district. The people of the Kolar, did not took the rejected request for CBI inquiry in good taste and are highly suspicious about the suicide, as for they protested against the irresponsible move by the Karnataka government, the public even stalled the state assembly and staged an overnight protest.
Whatever be the reason, the police seemed confident that it was a sheer case of suicide. But if reports are to be believed, it is said that ‘he was being blackmailed by builders who had accessed some embarrassing personal details.’
While Ganesh S Koundinya , an RTI activist who was in touch with Ravi in his last days said “Learning about me from a scribe, he called me and said he needed information on a housing finance company and a builder. He wanted to pursue them for commercial tax violations. We were supposed to meet this week.”
The final post-mortem reports are yet to be surfaced, which will help in making the case a bit more clear.
