STOP EATING MAGGI RIGHT NOW – REASON IS HERE

One of the most famous and leading brands Nestle is now facing criticism for news of its very well-known product Maggi having lead plus MSG more than the permitted amount has come to light. 2-minute noodles are among the most preferred foodstuffs which has acquired immense recognition as a ready to eat item. Moreover, Maggi is widely liked by each and everyone, be it a kid or an old person. Its popularity can easily be guessed by the fact claimed by a large number of populace who say Maggi is a temptation to them and they cannot stop themselves from having it just after a glimpse of it. But have you ever thought that why is it addictive to that extent?

It is claimed by Nestle that they don’t make use of MSG in Maggi which is confirmed by its packing too. Natural ingredients have MSG and are sometimes rich in it whose excess consumption is not good for health, particularly for kids.

In Lucknow, FSDA tested the Maggi sample randomly and shockingly came to know that it had lead as well as MSG over the allowable limit that made it harmful as per them.

Test Result says that Maggi contains 17 parts per million lead

However the permissible limit is only 0.01 parts per million

From this, you must have got the difference!

But Nestle maintains that as per records, amount of lead is negligible, i.e., below 1% of defined limit.

As told by Vijay Bahadur Yadav, FSDA Assistant Commissioner to Times Of India,

“We have tested Maggi samples at Kolkata’s referral laboratory. The test results show that there are added monosodium glutamate and excess of lead. We have ordered further sampling.”

In this connection, Nestle stated that no MSG was used by them and the amount found in samples was only because of natural substances in it. Additionally, as far as lead was concerned, it was a matter of great surprise for them too.

According to a Nestle spokesman,

“We do not add MSG to MAGGI Noodles and glutamate, if present, may come from naturally occurring sources. Food regulators in India also do not specify any limit for the presence of MSG / Glutamate.”

“We are surprised with the lead content supposedly found in the sample. We monitor the lead content regularly as part of regulatory requirements, and tests at our own accredited laboratories as well as those by independent external accredited laboratories have consistently shown the results to be well within the permissible limit.”

Excess amount of lead and MSG may addict persons, kids in particular, as well as are harmful for the body. Lucknow Food Safety and Drug Administration gives in writing to FSSAI for cancelling Maggi production’s license.
