Story Of “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” Revealed! It Is Very Similar To This Gujarati Film…

Akshay Kumar is going to have a busy 2017 and 2018 as there are too many projects lined up. However, “Toilet Ek Prem Katha” is one such project which everyone is eagerly waiting for. Last week, Akshay had shared a picture with Bhumi Pednekar, from the sets and that had increased our excitement even more. The movie’s story revolves around PM Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. However, today we are going to tell something which will probably surprise you!

The story is exactly similar to another Gujarati movie!

The story of this movie is similar to a Gujarati film by Krishnadev Yagnik, “Narayandas Pay And Use” (Tentative title); the shooting of that Gujarati movie will start from January i.e. after 2 months.

Story of “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha”!

Just like “Narayandas Pay And Use”, even “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” revolves around importance of stopping open defecation and using public toilets(Pay and use). Well, the Akshay Kumar starrer sheds light on the romantic love story of a man (Akshay) who runs the pay and use toilet and a slum girl (Bhumi) who comes and uses it. The climax shows the duo tying the knot and living happily thereafter. This is exactly the same story of “Narayandas Pay And Use”; it shows how a boy Trilok collects money for building this pay and use toilet and how he falls in love with a slum girl.

However, as per reports, Yagnik has no issues about the concept being similar; he says

“I had heard while I was making Days Of Taafree that Akshay Kumar was doing a film with the same concept and the characters were similar, too. But I can’t fight the people who are making that film. They are too big for me. And to be fair, I have never narrated the story to any of the people connected to Toilet Ek Prem Katha. Also, maybe just the concept is the same — the story is different. It’s a director’s vision and it all depends how he spins his story.”

Krishnadev further says that the concept of Narayandas Pay and Use was finalized 5 years back and he had met several producers too. However, this movie took a backseat that time, because he got busy with “Taafree”. But now, Yagnik is concentrating on this project and the shooting would start soon. He further adds;

“I heard another film with a similar story was being made, but chalta hai… Aisa hota hai kabhi kabhi… I can’t blame them. Also, my film will be in Gujarati meant for different audiences.”

So finally we have at least come to know about the plot of this movie. It looks pretty interesting and we look forward to the release. What’s your take on this? Do share your views in our comments section below.
