Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer “Stree 2” recently became the biggest Bollywood hit of the year as it has crossed the Rs. 500 crore mark in the domestic market and trade experts are pretty sure that the movie will certainly cross the Rs. 600 crore mark.
But amid the celebrations, a fight over credit broke out on social media between the lead actors. The director of the movie, Amar Kaushik addressed the situation, saying that the credit fight has not affected the team’s friendship. He mentioned that these issues often come up due to outside influences, especially when a movie is very successful.
He is of the opinion that fans of the stars are usually involved in such fights on social media where it is claimed that their favourite actor should receive all the credit for the movie. He adds that it is considered okay, as everyone is entitled to their own opinion and such social media wars have become common among fans nowadays.
Amar Kaushik further says that when a film performs well, such notions are fed into everyone’s minds, including the cast, suggesting that they should receive credit for the movie. He also reveals the way which he uses to avoid this type of noise, he says that he goes on a vacation to stay away from the noise because it is typically when a certain mark is hit that it becomes easier to get trapped in such social media games.
When asked if this online credit battle impacted the cast’s relationships, Amar assured that their bond is still strong. The team even made a fun video to laugh about the situation. He adds that their bond has only improved. Amar Kaushik stated that a video was shot with the entire cast where ‘who gets the credit for the film’ fight is replicated, and then he appears saying that it is his movie.
Amar Kaushik emphasized that “Stree 2” is a group effort, giving credit not just to the stars but to the whole team, including the technical crew.
The movie also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee in important roles and some big actors such as Akshay Kumar and Varun Dhawan did cameos in the film.
