There were rumours that actor-comedian Sunil Grover and Bigg Boss 11 winner Shilpa Shinde have came together for a new comedy show that will be in the form of a web series. Earlier, not much was known about it but now most of the details are out and as per the report of Indianexpress.com, this show will be a blend of comedy and cricket and its focus will be on the upcoming IPL tournament that is starting from April 7.
As per the sources, the show has been titled as Dan Dana Dan and viewers can watch it every Friday-Sunday evenings on Jio TV app during the matches of Indian Premier League. The other actors who are also a part of the show are Suyyash Rai, Sugandha Mishra and Ali Asgar. It is also said that Paresh Ganatra and Suresh Menon will also appear in some episodes.
A source revealed,
“It will be an out and out comedy series where the cricket angle has been smartly incorporated. For the first time, a comedy show will hit the digital waves and with such a talented star cast, the makers are quite confident of making it a hit project. Every episode will also see some cricketers joining in for a fun conversation and some gags. Recently, Sunil flew down with the team to Chennai to shoot for the pilot episode with the Chennai Super Kings team.”
The pattern of the show is very much similar to the Extra Innings and discussions will take place on the IPL craze in the country, outcomes and special moments of the matches and some funny moments of the tournament. The Dan Dana Dan team has recently shot a segment with former Indian skipper MS Dhoni and spinner Harbhajan Singh.

The show is being produced by Simoes sisters and Frames Production. Earlier they have worked together for The Drama Company. Preeti and Neeti had played an important part in the success of Kapil Sharma’s shows – Comedy Nights with Kapil and The Kapil Sharma Show but they quit after the mid-air brawl. It is also being said that Preeti was having an affair with Kapil but as Kapil introduced Ginny to everyone as his girlfriend, the distances between them have increased a lot.
Usually, moviemakers avoid to release their movies during IPL and the ratings of other TV shows also go down but we think that Dan Dana Dan has been designed in a such a manner that it will be benefitted because of IPL that will go on till May 27.
