Indian cricket women played really well in the World Cup 2017 and amazed everyone with their superlative performance against every team they played.
Even against England in the much awaited final match, our ladies roared like lionesses.
However, the unfortunate run out of captain Mithali Raj cost the team heavily as they lost the match and even the prestigious cup.
The moment was indeed painful for all the Indians as when it looked the victory is just a few minutes away, it was snatched by the English team. While many appreciated the efforts of the team, there was also a lot of criticism. It was also said that the run out was a result of the match fixing.

After the match, Mithali Raj has finally answered the questions rising against her performance.
In an exclusive interview with Times Of India, Mithali said-
I saw some weird stuff written about my run out on social media. Actually, what happened was my spike got stuck on the pitch. Poonam called me for a run and I responded. Before I reached the half way, this thing (spike getting stuck) happened and I don’t think the TV cameras captured it. I couldn’t push myself hard and couldn’t even make an effort to dive. I was helpless. I was gutted.
Well, we can’t feel the pain Mithali must be going through, but we can at least try to understand it. Let’s all stand as a strong back for the ladies because victory or loss, they reached the finals with excellent performance and it deserves all the appreciation and support. What do you think?
