On the night of November 25, a female Japanese tourist (35) was raped by a man identified as Teja in her hotel room in Kovalam, Kerala. The lady’s statement was recorded by the police after she was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that she received because of physical assault.

Indian External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj, immediately swung into action as she came to know about the incident.
She has asked for a report on the same:

Not only this, she has also asked the Kerala govt. to keep updating her about the actions that they are undertaking against the accused:

Sushma Swaraj is known for her prompt action and immediate reaction but what makes her a special politician is the fact that she is so quick even when she herself is admitted in a hospital because of kidney failure.
