Thanks To WhatsApp, A Minor Girl Was Saved From Getting Married

News comes from Hyderabad where an unusual and surprising incident took place. It was just on the basis of a complaint lodged through WhatsApp that cops in the company of State Commission for Protection of Child Rights could successfully save a minor girl of 15 from getting wed forcibly and what’s more shameful is that this heinous crime was committed by her own family. The wedding venue was Saroornagar’s ASR Gardens and the planned time was Sunday morning.

This girl, apparently known as B. Geetha did high school this year and had a desire for pursuing her studies but Babugonda B. Vittal, Geetha’s father wished that she gets wed. Not only this, he also gave her a warning of committing suicide on her refusal from this. This became a life and death situation for her and she did not have any idea as to what step to take further; so she made up her mind to inform the cop about it via a message sent from WhatsApp.

According to ACP, LB Nagar division, P. Venugopal Rao, “At about 12 midnight, I got a message on WhatsApp. It was an image of a handwritten letter with the details of a girl.”
