In the face of all the controversy regarding LGBT community in India, America witnessed the first lesbian wedding of an Indian. Shannon and Seema – The pair got married in a Desi way, and this union is truly beautiful.
How they met
Shannon saw Seema at a fitness class she teaches. And, it was no less then Love at first sight because at that very moment Shannon said to a fellow instructor that “I am going to marry her”, and who knew I will come true one day!!
While the Indian society is still lagging behind when its comes to one’s orientation, but America have accepted the LGBT community and is passing pro law for it.
Reaction of the Parents
While you can easily guess from the pictures that the wedding was a fun-filled affair. There is no trace of any tension or embarrassment, Well, that’s because the family of Seema and Shannon have accepted their daughter’s liberal choice and were with them throughout the ceremony.
“I have been anticipating this wedding for years now. Shannon and Seema are special to me and I am honored that they chose me to be their wedding photographer.” said Steph.
The wedding was a combination of Hindu rituals from Seema’s side as she made it to the venue in a traditional ‘Doli’ and a bit of classic American style as well as Shannon walked up the aisle with her mother
