There was a period in the 90s when Bobby Deol, the son of one of Hindi cinema’s biggest stars Dharmendra, was carving out his own identity with surprising ease. Made on a modest budget of Rs 8.25 crore, it earned an impressive Rs 38.88 crore, becoming one of the biggest box office winners of the year. Its music topped charts, its direction was widely praised, and over the years, Soldier gained cult status among fans.
The film also marked Bobby Deol’s first on-screen pairing with Preity Zinta and their refreshing chemistry quickly became one of its most memorable highlights. For Bobby, Soldier wasn’t just a film, it was a turning point, a celebration of his talent and a reminder of the magnetic charm he brought to 90s Bollywood.
