We say India is a secular country and a democratic country etc. Try finding yourself a home in Bombay and you’ll know better.
You are discriminated based on your religion, your sex, your marital status, your love for cats, dogs and/or other animals, your sexual preference, your job – the list is endless. The kind of questions owners ask and worse, the kind of problems the society of the apartment have, are ridiculously illegal and offensive I would think.
Homeless is about the ordeals of a young guy trying to find a house in Bombay. His only mistake being, he isn’t married. We need to make our society less discriminating. People need to accept others for the way they are and for what they do, as long as they don’t pose a threat to others’ lives. It is wrong to have rules on paper on otherwise where you cant find a house only because you chose to not get married, or religion, because of your job or you have a pet, eat non vegetarian food or your sexual life/orientation.
