Babar Azam-led Pakistani cricket team started their tournament on a good note by winning the first two matches but they lost their third match to India and then they lost their fourth match to Australia. Everyone felt that Pakistan will make a comeback against Afghanistan and it will once again start winning matches but all the Pakistani cricket fans were shocked to see how Afghanistan dominated the Pakistani team in the match, especially the fearless and confident manner in which they batted and defeated Pakistan by 8 wickets.

Babar Azam is the number one ODI batter as per the ICC rankings and before the tournament started, the Pakistan team was touted as one of the strongest contenders of the trophy but now their chances of playing the semi-finals are also bleak in view of the fact that they need to win all the four remaining matches for securing a place in top four. After the humiliating defeat against Afghanistan, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam accepted that his team played below par and this defeat will certainly hurt them.

There is no doubt that the Pakistani players must have got emotional after this defeat and recently during a show, Mohammad Yousuf claimed that Babar Azam cried after the defeat and he extended his support towards the Pakistan skipper.

A Pakistani cricket journalist tweeted, “I heard Babar Azam cried after the defeat against Afghanistan last night. It’s not only Babar’s fault, the entire team and management is involved. We are with Babar Azam in this tough time and the entire nation is with him’ – Mohammad Yousuf”

Soon the Pakistan cricket fans also tweeted in Babar Azam’s support:
