This Girl Sued Coca-Cola For Not Keeping Its Promise Of A Dinner Date With Hrithik - RVCJ Media

Shikha Monga belonging to Haryana’s Panchkula was 19 at the time of winning Coca-Cola competition in the year 2000 which assured her of one romantic dinner date with Hrithik Roshan that actually never took place ever since.

Presently, Shikha is of 34 and is seeking justice from Chandigarh district court put Coca-Cola on notice in view of the fact that Shikha wants Rs 2.5 cr in damages.

KK Jain, civil judge, issued notice on Shikha’s application and the soft drink company wants more time for filing reply; hence, this case has been adjourned for 24th August.

Additionally, the judge noted that Monga doesn’t need to disburse Rs 2.43 lakh for suit’s fee. As stated by the order, “It is duly proved on record that the applicant is not possessed of sufficient means to pay the court fee and she is indigent.”

As per Shikha, this contest was a part of the company’s promotional program at the time of Duggu’s debut movie release, i.e., Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai. Announcement of the prizes had to be made on coke bottles’ crown’s back. She was a student then who spent pocket money to purchase Coca-Cola so that she could win the first prize and indeed, she did on 22nd May, 2000.

The moment Shikha claimed her first prize in the marketing office of the soft drink, manager gave her an offer of Rs 5 lakh as a replacement for dinner date with Hrithik which she denied. Coca-Cola neither kept its word nor replied to the letters of Shikha which forced her for moving the court in the year 2003.

She claimed for damages, “Everybody in college, friends and relatives used to ask me about my dinner with Hrithik. I lost my reputation and was labelled a liar.”

It’s obviously quite clear that the company did not keep its promise but do you think Shikha will get justice this time? Properly her dinner date should also be compensated as the company promised for the same. What is your opinion about it? Share your views in the comments section below.
