There is an atmosphere of rage and fury among Indians after Aamir Khan’s “Intolerance” statement. Needless to say, he and his wife were criticized on Twitter and people who used to praise Mr. Perfectionist for his acting skills and talent are now against him and openly say that he can leave India, as it’s completely fine on the part of Indians. What’s more, his leaving the country won’t make any difference to the citizens of India but he should not forget that it’s India who has made him who he is today, i.e., “AAMIR KHAN”!!
If you are not aware of what the actor said, here it is!
“As an individual, as part of this country as a citizen, we read in the papers what is happening, we see it on the news and certainly, I have been alarmed. I can’t deny. I have been alarmed by a number of incidents.” Aamir Khan made this statement at Ramnath Goenka Excellence.
He further added that he was feeling more insecure or scared in last 6-8 months. In his words, “When I chat with Kiran at home, she says ‘Should we move out of India?’ That’s a disastrous and big statement for Kiran to make. She fears for her child. She fears about what the atmosphere around us will be. She feels scared to open the newspapers every day. That does indicate that there is this sense of growing disquiet, there is growing despondency apart from alarm. You feel why this is happening, you feel low. That sense does exist in me.”
Such a statement is natural to create controversy and trouble and as a result, the actor along with his wife is criticized everywhere in India. What’s more, there could hardly be any Indian who would stand in his support.
