On 13th February, the Sharma family had settled in for the night, not knowing that their lives were about to be changed forever. Mr. Sharma, who is blind but gifted with exceptional hearing abilities, was fast asleep when he heard a noise.
His son, Siddharth, had been unable to sleep on account of exams, and decided to investigate the source of the noise. He traced it to his sister’s room, and found it was locked from inside.
He went inside to find a man named Rahul forcing himself on his 15 year old sister, whose name we are choosing to keep anonymous. He was also accompanied by 2 of his friends.
When Siddharth intervened, the two friends charged at him and attempted to run away while Rahul then tried to attack Siddharth, his aged father and his younger brother.
After the scuffle ended nearly three hours later, Siddharth’s sister herself tried to get help, but to no avail. The family contacted the local police station, but the police did not turn up till 10 A.M.
In a shocking turn of events, Rahul, who belongs to a powerful and influential family in Morena, had turned the tables on Siddharth and his family and insisted that they were lying.

As per norms, the girl was even subjected to a medical test and has been admitted in the hospital ever since. According to Siddharth who spoke to us, the accused has also been admitted to the same hospital and has been placed under protection.
Siddharth and his family claim that the authorities are delaying the process and that their phones have been put under surveillance. He also claims that he has not been allowed to see his sister.

He says that it has been 2 days since the incident, and not a single measure has been taken by the police. The assailant is on the verge of getting away with it, while his sister continues to suffer in the hospital.
He mentioned that his father and brother are injured, but they are still doing everything in their power to get their girl the justice she deserves.
However, the family has been receiving threats from criminals and other powerful people who want them to withdraw the complaint. Even the girl is not being spared from harassment.
No media house has agreed to cover their story or give it the exposure such a case demands, simply because the incident involves influential people.
