Abdul Majid, an engineering student was arrested by the Cyberabad police as he was cajoling, blackmailing and threatening several schoolgirls and forcing them to send their nude pics.
Abdul who is 21 year old is from the Banjara Hills and he has established friendship with nearly 200 girls on the Facebook using fake IDs of girls. Additionally, he has made eight different accounts on Facebook with fake names of women, using which he made friends with school girls of Hyderabad.
Cyberabad police commissioner, CV Anand told, “From these accounts, he used to search for girls studying in reputed or international schools and send them friend requests.”
Once he gets to know the girl properly and she also starts trusting him (as she believes that she is talking to a girl), he starts talking about physical intimacy. Some of them share their nude pics as per their will with their lady friend, others who refused were threatened by Abdul that his father is a police officer and their chats will be emailed to her parents or he will post on Facebook.
CV Anand further shared the information, “When some victims refused to share, the accused intimidated them. Frightened by this, many shared their private photos. From various telephone numbers the accused used to make calls to the victims and asked them to keep on sending more photographs. If they refused to do so, Majid used to threaten to post their earlier photos on porn sites.” He also told that in one case, Abdul who in reality is the son of a pan-shop owner has extracted Rs 86,000 from a girl.
Police is suspicious that hundreds of girls have fallen victim to Abdul as they found hundreds of photographs in his mobile.
Abdul’s 18 months crime came into the knowledge when an intermediate girl student from the city told her mother about the whole incident and her mother contacted police for help.
