This Pakistani Middle Order Batsman Was Approached For Match Fixing In Global T20 Canada League

The game of cricket is known as the gentleman’s game at times the game of cricket has been ashamed for the dark sit of match fixing. Recently the Pakistani middle order batsman Umar Akmal alleged revealed that he was approached for match fixing in the ongoing Global T20 Canada 2019.

Umar Akmal is playing for Winnipeg Hawks in the second session of the Global T20 Canada League. Akmal has by far played 3 games in this session. Umar is giving his best to make a comeback in the national team.

Akmal wasn’t even selected for the top 15 squad of Pakistani team for the mega event of the cricketing world ICC World Cup 2019 held in England, Wales.

The 29 year old cricketer revealed about the matter in front International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Anti Corruption Unit (ANU). Umar Akmal allegedly said a former Pakistani cricketer approached him with a match fixing offer for the ongoing Global T20 Canada 2019.

When the report was brought in front of the Pakistani Cricket Board (PCB) their spokesperson clearly said the T20 tournament is not their concern. As Canada is handling the administration of the T20 tournament and PCB has got nothing to do with it.

The 5 players Shoaib Mailk, Wahab Riaz, Mohammed Hafeez, Shadab Khan and Umar Akmal, who is currently playing in the Global T20 Canada League had to issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Pakistani Cricket board to participate in the league.
