There have been many examples of entrepreneurs who have not finished their studies or are not highly educated but have been successful in their fields and hopefully, these three 10th standard students of Neerja Modi School, Jaipur, are the latest additions to the list.
We are talking about Mragank Gurjar, Utsav Jain and Chetanya Golechha from Jaipur who have received Rs. 3 crore as funding for their start-up called ‘Infusion Beverages’. The lives of these three boys changed last year in April when they took part in the entrepreneurship fest which was held in their own school. In a time period of less than a year, they have not just worked on their idea but also got an investor and finally, their idea has turned into reality.

Here’s what Chetanya told,
“Our presentation of the product failed to impress the judges in the fest. We were kicked out in the first round. Though we were out of the competition in the first hour but got the order of delivering 150 flavoured water bottles.”
They delivered 150 bottles and from then, they worked very hard for making their dream come true. The basic idea of their start-up is to make flavoured water but without using any preservatives. Mragank Gurjar told,
“We carried out intense research on Google to prepare a healthy drink without sugar and soda. But soon we realized that turning an idea into reality is not easy when you are a minor. Procuring the licence, necessary permissions from the food department and approval from FSSAI, are a herculean task. As we were minors our parents sought the permission on our behalf.”

They further took part in entrepreneurship competitions which were held at IIM-Indore and IIT-Kanpur and got applauded but the twist came when Malviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) decided to nurture their idea and provided them assistance in applying for getting patent.
8,000 bottles of flavoured water of bel, kewra and rose flavours were sold by them till the month of January through B2B mode. However, when they were checking other avenues to make it big, they got a call from an investor based in Indore who wanted to meet them in January. Utsav told,
“The meeting was successful in the first hour. They decided to fund Rs 3 crore. Under the agreement, we have the responsibility of marketing and research. The plant will be based in Indore.”

On the question of missing the fun of their teenage, Chetanya said,
“Our dreams are big and we have to start early to achieve them. I don’t like people who sit idle till they complete their graduation or post-graduation. This early start will keep us ahead of everyone.”
They also read management books which are prescribed in UG and PG courses so that they can understand the nitty-gritty of market.
We wish Good Luck to all three of them!
