The India-Pakistan rivalry is already creating huge excitement for the 2027 ODI World Cup, with more than 100,000 ticket applications submitted for their October 10 clash. According to information on the International Cricket Council (ICC) website, total ticket demand for the 2027 ODI World Cup has crossed the one-million mark since the ballot opened on October 1, 2026.
The tournament will be held across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia from October 2 to November 21, 2027. The ICC said more than 320,000 fans have registered for the ticket ballot, with applications being made for matches across all three host countries. The strong early response has highlighted the growing anticipation for the 14th edition of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
India vs Pakistan match on October 10 has attracted the highest demand so far, with more than 100,000 applications. The South Africa vs India match is second with more than 86,000 applications, while the India vs Australia fixture has received over 80,000 applications.
Another India-Pakistan encounter is also drawing significant interest. The pre-seeded Super 7 match between India (A1) and Pakistan (A3), scheduled for November 7, has received around 75,000 applications, making it the fourth most demanded match so far.
The 2027 World Cup final, which will be played at the Wanderers in Johannesburg, has also attracted nearly 65,000 applications.
The ICC said ticket prices will start at USD $9.62 (R158) for entry-level tickets and go up to USD $31.31 (R514) for the highest-tier matches. The ticketing plan also includes family bundles, student and pensioner pricing, early-bird local allocations, and special pricing for community clubs and school groups.
ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta said the response of more than one million applications in just over 48 hours shows the enormous attention surrounding the 2027 World Cup. He also highlighted the ability of ICC events to attract fans across cultural and geographical boundaries.

Sanjog Gupta further said the tournament represents an important moment for Africa, as a major ICC men’s event is returning to the continent after two decades. He noted that the tournament is expected to attract attention from around 2.5 billion cricket fans across more than 120 countries.
Fans can continue registering for the ticket ballot and selecting their preferred matches through the ICC website until November 21, 2026.
