The Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar may have been going through a tough phase in present times but there was a time when his presence in the movie was termed as a guarantee of success and he may have given back-to-back flops recently but he has also given back-to-back hits and he was the favourite lead actor of producers at that time.

Many times we have seen that Akshay Kumar is accused of not giving enough time to movies as he likes to wrap up films quickly. In fact, he was held responsible for the failure of “Samrat Prithviraj” as there were reports that he didn’t enough time to the movie despite the fact that it was a big budget flick and needed more time.

Now in an interview, Akshay Kumar has responded to these allegations and he says that he never forces anyone to wrap up a movie quickly, he gives as much time as the director wants and while explaining his stand, he refers to Hollywood actor Tom Cruise starrer “Mission Impossible”.

Here’s what he said, “Only 55 Days. Rest of the filming continues, with duplicates and all. Biggest action film in the industry, Mission Impossible, and Tom Cruise shot only for 55 days. Everyday, they shoot a scene of 1 and a half to two mins so you can calculate.”

Khiladi Kumar further added, “There are a few films that have 75 days shoot schedule, there are others that are 30 days shoot schedule, how much ever time the director asks, I will give. People have (presented a wrong perception) to people. I don’t want to get into the detail of it on who started it. Because it starts from somebody who doesn’t like you, that let’s find out one or two things. So it starts that way.”

Akshay Kumar also talked about the time when he was praised for wrapping up movies quickly because he was giving hit movies but now this narrative is being set against him as his films are getting flopped. In his words, “Earlier, people would say ‘start a film with him and it wraps quickly.’ This was when 17 to 18 films of mine were working. He comes on time, goes on time, movie wraps, it releases — it sees the day of release in 8 to 9 months. Now that movies are not working, they narrative is he doesn’t give films time. They change it.”

Akshay also maintained that he is not giving any clarification, “People want to see content, people want to see your effort, people want to see what you (have made), they are not interested in how much time you are spending. Ye toh inhone likh likh ke… Not that I am giving a clarification, people can write what they want. But this is not what I think. I would like to tell my audience that don’t think like that and don’t believe what people say.”
